who do not have access to a computer or to a quality printer. The
price of the Awareness Handbook covers production costs only.

The
"Silver Ribbon Campaign" originated as a grassroots effort of
members of the Our-Kids Mailing List (www.our-kids.org) to increase
"awareness and support of children with disabilities." The
color silver was chosen for the ribbons "to represent the silver
lining behind every cloud, and to show that our children are more than
just their disabilities." With our own silver ribbon campaign, we
also recognize the adults with brachial plexus injuries, by addressing
their "kid at heart".
The
Awareness Jewelry Ribbon Pin idea originated with one of the Awareness
Committee members, Shannon Green. She worked with a manufacturer
to produce a very special jewelry pin that is made of die-struck pewter
with nickel plating for a shiny 'silver' appearance. The pin is 1
1/8" in height and a small silver-like bell is attached.
When
people ask you about your pin, you will be able to give them a business
card that will have information about brachial plexus injuries and our
silver ribbon campaign printed on it. Five business cards are
included with each pin ordered and the ready-to-print file of the layout
for this card is available in the Awareness Document Section.
$5.00
per pin includes postage to the U.S.
Knowing
that our international community will want to purchase these ribbon
pins, we have taken the regular $5 per pin price, deducted the postage
that was built into the $5 price, and discounted each pin by an
additional $1 to reduce the burden of currency exchange fees.
These
discounted pins are sold in sets of 25 pins for $75 per set plus
postage. Two sets or 50 pins weighs one pound. Please check
with www.usps.com for actual postage
rates to your country. Insurance is provided on your package at no
additional cost. There are no returns for unsold pins.
We
have a solution for support groups that want to purchase the pins in
bulk and pay for them after their picnics are over:
Jewelry
pins are sold to support groups in sets of 25 pins for $125 per set
(this is the regular $5 per pin price.) Postage and insurance is
included. No returns on unsold pins.
$25
security deposit must be paid by credit card and will be deducted from
the balance. Credit card number will be held on file and used for
payment in full on or around October 31, 2001. There will be a Bulk
Purchases Agreement that will need to be signed and returned to Nancy
Birk at UBPN in advance. Contact UBPN at 1-866-877-7004 or email Nancy
Birk.
We
have purchased enough supplies to make 600 "real silver
ribbon" hand-sewn pins and our sewing team is at work! These
ready-to-wear (no additional preparation or sewing necessary) ribbon
pins are sold in sets of 20 for $7 per set. Postage within the
U.S. is included.
International postage extra. Please email our Ribbon
Coordinator for precise weight and postage costs for your
international order.
