Re: sleeping positions
<t>I've always been very surprised with people on this topic saying that they sleep on their BPI side. Perhaps its different for OBPIs than for TBPIs. I have NEVER been able to sleep on my TBPI side, and finally, after 7 years, I can lie on it for about a half hour or so before the pain becomes too ...

<t>The debate about whether or not to wear a helmet will rumble on forever. Although the lid may save your life, I think the ones that are required by law in the UK are too big and too heavy. I think the centrifugal and whiplash effect of the lid may well contribute towards BPI. I would like to see ...

<r>Try the Wilmer Orthosis from Ambroise UK. I used to have one to stop the subluxation, and it was fantastic. If you want more details, e-mail me at <EMAIL email="andymarina2002@yahoo.co.uk">andymarina2002@yahoo.co.uk</EMAIL>. There are photos of Rekha trying one one at the TBPI-Group website. </r>

<t>Speaking as a bloke, what I'm about to say may surprise some of you ladies who are trying to support your injured men. Obviously I can't speak for all men, but I'll say it as I see it.<br/> <br/> When I had my BPI, all I wanted to do was to get on with my life. To be left alone. My wife was reall...

Re: How well have you adapted to the opposite hand?
<r>When I first got my BPI, I was also confined to a wheelchair for 4 months. During that time I taught myself to use my non-dominant hand. I went back to writing the way I'd been taught in Infant School (Elementary school ?) by just writing loads of <B><s></s>a<e></e></B> s, until they looke...

<t>Linda, it's really wonderful that you care so much, and I think your first sentence sums it up perfectly. <br/> I am a bit different from some of the people who post here. I was a 100% all-weather biker, and PRECISELY because I don't want to injure my good arm, I am now a triker instead. I love r...

Re: subluxation
<r>Subluxation causes a constant ache in the neck and shoulder area that is different to, and on top of, BPI nerve pain. I used to wear a Wilmer Orthosis, which really did help. <r>I had my amp June 2002 after 5 years flail arm. I TOTALLY agree with Duncan. I dont wear a prosthesis either, although having seen Mr Tom Hyde's one, I'm starting to think a bit differently.
