How does this do for shoulder subluxation? I noticed the woman in the pic for sling 1 was wearing a shoulder stabilizer underneath her sling. Let me know because this is a major issue with me.

That is why I wear the sling. Because of shoulder instability and to prevent further subluxation.

Without it, I wouldn't be running, skiing, or being very physically active at all.

Hi all,

I just wanted to share the newest sling that Dan helped me get. I've successfully done a couple 1/2 marathons in the normal "running" sling, but I was finding that in the winter and evenings, the sling covers some of the reflective stuff on a running jacket. So, Dan helped me get reflective stuff on the sling itself!

Looks like a great sling! For the people who have it and to Dan how well does it support the shoulder from subluxation because before this last surgery I had I used to wear a shoulder stapilizer. Shoulder support is hard to find in slings.

Thanks
Nate

nate,
the subluxation was issue #1 for me. i've had the sling for a little over a month and it is great. i have about a 2" or so drop. i can tighten the right side strap to bring it to about 1/2". and i still have a bit of adjustment left. i just need to get used to the weight bearing on the right. also, that thing in the other thread about wondering about what people do? dan, the fellow who designed this sling has an interesting/inspiring take on that issue. you ought to email him. and even if you do not go for the sling ask him if you can call and talk to him for a bit.

Received this picture of Derek running in the Great Northwest Half Marathon last month and thought I would pass it along. I think it was his first after getting hurt last year and only getting the sling a few months ago. He did it in 1:33.11 and is aiming for a sub 1:30 in the Edinburg Half Marathon in May.

Great job Derek and hope the training is going well.
