| This story is New Story submitted by Jennifer on September 24, 1999 at 13:51:58: Jennifer is 32, from Rhode Island. Family: I can't believe all the people that have BPI. YOung and old. I am hoping to build up more faith by hearing other stories. It is not easy. My daughter, Andrea is now 7 weeks. Beautiful happy and adjusting well to the world and sleeping (thank god). My labor was about 12 hours. Starting on its own of course at midnight after being gone all day. I was exhausted. Dr spoke of forceps and possible c section because she wans't coming down on her own. Dr broke my water and that sent the dilation back 2 cms. I work my butt off to get her down. Squatting the birthing ball Her head was against my spine. They "ATTEMPTED" and epiduralwhich hurt more than the contractions themselves. Anyway to get to the point which I don't really remember other than pushing so hard I thought my face was gonna pop off. I don;t know how much the Dr had to pull on her. But it is a concern of mine as to wether or not this could have been prevented. How many people out there wonder the same. She has had some improvement but her right wrist she can;t hold straight. May need a splint. she can not flex her bicep nor can she raise her arm above her should which she does alot with the other hand when she wakes from sleep. I have worked with children since I was 18 and don't recall ever hearing about this. I feel helpless and lost! I do exercises every day and pray that God will heel her. But we all have to remember they will survive with this and give them all the love as parents , relatives, friends. Looking for other parents who have similar stories.
