| This story is New Story submitted by Lisa Greganti on October 28, 1999 at 15:38:24: Lisa Greganti is 24, from San Jose, CA USA. Family:Husband Bill, daughter Alexis who is 3, and Ryan who is 1 month old Hello, I had a very rough delivery of my son, Ryan. He was a foreseps baby and now has Erb's Palsy. I am trying to find more information about this. The doctors that he has say that 80% of babies born with Erb's Palsy recover by the time they are 2 months old and the other 20% have to have further treatment and therapy. I have a friend who is a nurse who believes that what my doctor had to do to get the baby out was not nesessary and thinks it was malpractice and if Ryan does not get better, I should think about sueing. Also, the nurses at the hospital were doing ROM with him, but when I left the hospital, I had no instructions to do any thing like that and now I am afraid that he won't get better, because of lack of information. When I spoke to the docotrs about if I should do anything for Ryan they told me to wait and see and no need for ROM "he is too young" Does this sound right to anyone? I think they are quaks! I hope someone can help me in questions I should be asking the doctors. I would like to talk to anyone that has information or a story that can help us. I just want to help my son the best that I can. | ||
