| This story is New Story submitted by Jennifer Nessler on November 25, 1999 at 21:50:31: Jennifer Nessler is 22, from Edmonton,Alberta Canada. Family:Husband Wes 22 Daughter Brooklyn 5months Our precious angel was born right at 40 weeks. I had complained alot in the last month of my pregnancy, but I was told everythigh was fine even though I was already dialating and had really strong contractions all month. I was really sick of hearing "Any day now". I had gained 50 pounds and was all baby. Brooklyn weighed 10lbs7ounces, and was 221/2 inches long. Her shoulders became stusk and they started pulling, twisting, and jumping on my stomach trying to free her shoulders. Our big baby girl was born with the cord around her neck, covered in mechonium, and not breathing . What a mothers nightmare..... Brooklyn is now 5 months old and has seen a PT since she was 2 weeks old. Like so many others we were told to give it a few days and her arm would come back. Well we've had the first surgery, when she was 3 months old and when they went in , c5,c6,T1 were totally evulsed from the spine, and c3 and c4 were snapped in half. Nothing was working at all. Her surgery was 10 hours long. We are now on the road to recovory and have already gained the Deltoid muscel back. It's going to be a long road ahead of us. We take Brooklyn once a week to PT, and we know it will be many long years. Anyone wishing to talk to another mom please feel free to e-mail me! | ||
