| This story is New Story submitted by Linda Rhodes on December 02, 1999 at 09:06:43: Linda Rhodes is 42, from Chesterfield, Illinois, USA. Family:divorced, mother of three My 14 year-old son, Daniel, was involved in a motor vehicle accident on October 30, 1999. Besides other critical injuries, most of which have been resolved, he suffered a brachial plexus injury. He has no use of his left arm although he can flex his bicep using his shoulder, I think. He seems to have no feeling from his elbow to his fingertips. No one seems to have any answers for us. We have even been to Shriners Hospital in St. Louis and they can't seem to help us either. I just want to get the best possible treatment for my son and I don't want to wait too long to get it. I don't even know if there's anything out there to help him. From what I understand, the nerve roots were pulled away from the spinal column in the neck region. I understand that the higher up the spinal column, the less likely chance he'll have for the nerves to restore themselves. Does anyone have any advice for me? I would certainly appreciately your help. In the meantime, I'm going to read the stories in this section and hopefully find out some positive information. Thank you for your time. | ||
