| This story is New Story submitted by To Ralph on December 21, 1999 at 22:39:56: To Ralph is n/a, from Oklahoma. Family:for a friend Ralph, have you heard anything more about your email at the ERBS Palsy site? I sure hope so. There is a gentleman in my church who had a brachial Plexus injury in 1971 (a tree fell on him.) His injury sounds very much like yours. It effects his left arm and hand, which is very bent. He had surgery some years ago and as a result, can hold a glass in the hand but that is about all. He still has pain in his fingers and has severe cramping in his forearm. He is in his 80's and wants to know if there is anything that can be done about the cramping and pain. He's already tried the electrical unit which inserted wires into the area to try to block the nerve, but it didn't work and the wires have since been removed. Would you consider providing your address for him to write you so you can stay in touch in case either of you find out info? He doesn't have Internet...If you would be more comfortable, I could provide you with his mailing address. Thanks, This is your story: "I had a brachial plexus injury in an accident in 1986. thirteen years later I still have limited movement in my fingers of my righthand (I am right handed),. and my hand is still painful especially when a low Has anyone had treatment to straighten their fingers? Did it work? I am told that there are now opperations to control the burning pain? Is this true? A major problem is muscle weaknerss so I tend to drop things. How can you strenghthen you arm and hand? I would be glad to hear of any information -Ralph, South Australia" | ||
