| This story is New Story submitted by Nanny Orr on January 07, 19100 at 19:10:24: Nanny Orr is 34, from Summerville, SC, USA. Family:husband,3 kids We have a 19 month old boy named Charlie, he was born a very big baby, 9lbs. 5 oz. I was diagnosed a diabetic ,insulin dependent, mother. I took two shots a day for the duration of the pregnancy. I was led to believe that the baby was only 7 lbs. 13 oz., up to the day before I had him. After my labor induction, it turns out that my baby was bigger than anticipated. I was unable to deliver so they had to force the baby out. To make a very long story short, he now has erbs palsy in his right arm. We have been through so many test such as EMG'S, therapy, and doctor visits that it was very mind blowing. After 14 months we decided to proceed with surgery to graft nerves from the back of his legs to his neck and shoulder. This was a very frightful experience in that our son was in surgery for 9 and 1/2 hours. The sight of him coming out was not very pleasant. He is now in therapy 3 times a week and is improving some. We hope that the end result will be worth the pain that we all went through. If anyone has any information as far as similar experiences or legal advice, please call. | ||
