Family:

Timothy was born 7-19-90, our third child. Like many others, I had gained 75lbs (I normally weigh about 110) and often remarked to my OBGYN that this pregnancy felt different.
Long story short, a nasty delivery, complete with a 4th dgeree tear (ouchh) and a baby handed to me with his right arm pinned to his tee shirt. All medical personel were VERY nervous...especially our arrogant md, who wanted US to feel sorry for the hard day I had given him!! What a jerk!!
Enter my siser, a pediarician, who hooked us up right away with a pediarrtic neurologist at Westchester Medical Center (NY). He made no promises, but gave us hope. At about 3 or 4 months Timmy raised his arm over his head. It was quite spontaneous---gave us little warning it was gonna happen!
Bottom line--9lb 10oz babies are NOT meant to come out through the vagina--despite how many say "natural " is the only way. I almost lost my son because of this ignorance!! We are just very lucky to have a almost 10 yr old who moves his arm totally.
So glad this site is here---would have loved it back then--it helps even now!
Paula
