| This story is New Story submitted by Geoffrey Langton on January 23, 19100 at 04:56:01: Geoffrey Langton is 3 yrs6mos., from Western Australia. Family: Geoffrey was born with 9.4 lbs weight,on normal delivery.Consequently his shoulder got stuck and vacuum was used to force him out, still didn't work then his head push out, one shoulder in then that's the injury occurs, nerve had been severely strech. He had his surgery at the age of 11mos, mainly debridement nerve reconstruction was not done as it was not torn. Now he is about to undergo another surgery called tendon extention. My concern is he is so young to undergo so many surgeries, what would be the effet on him in the future. His hand movement did increase but he can't rotate inward nor lift it up. Could hardly reach his mouth, if he moves he lift it thru the shoulder which is very frustrating. I wonder if this tendon extension surgery would help him at all.If anybody had done this procedure before please reply and give me some assurance, as up to now I'm hesitant in going for another surgery. Geoffrey is at school already, and yes, he is not bothered yet as he can compensate with the help of his other hand, but I'm so angry and frustrated that this had happen to my son. He is my one and only child, so please if anybody had read this, please reply and tell me the advantage of going to another surgery wether it will help in some ways or not. Thanks, | ||
