Story by: Holly in Anchorage, Alaksa USA

I am a 17 year old girl with Erb's Palsy in my right arm. I was 9lb 1 oz when I was born....
ya I was a big baby and the delivery was only 14 minutes!! My parents took me to lots of
physical therapy right after I was born like the docs had told them to do (even though it
was their fault it happened....the doc left town the day after i was born so he wouldn't
get in trouble) - which was a good thing...if they hadn't I would have lost 25% of the
straightness...right now there is only an 8% loss. I am currently now focussing on
gaining more strength in my arm since I love to lift weights even though my guy friends
get a good chuckle when I do arm curls or bench ....it's ackward sometimes. Most people
don't notice my bent arm, I keep it in my pocket or people think I walk like I am buff
...hehe. Most of my friends get a kick out of "trying" to straighten my arm since it just
stops at an angle. I have no suppination in addition to the weakness. I would love to hear from
some of you people with Erbs palsy, I have met one girl with it and it was so neat to talk
to her about the similarities!! Drop me a line! forholly@hotmail.com
