Story by: josee in toronto/ontario/canada

Throughout the whole pregnancy I was told that I would be have a small baby. My second last visit to the gyn/ob he stated that she would be big. I was also going for weekly non stress test once weekly; at one point even going twice a week b'cause the baby's heartbeat was elevated. Finally she was born on june 11th. The doctor had to break my water and I started to push while pushing the baby's head came out but so did the cord wrapped twice around her neck. At which point the doctor was pulling in order to try and losen the cord. which of course did not help. He told me to stop pushing and cut the cord. However my daughter now has erb's palsy. She is now 81/2 months old and has had surgery. They have done 5 nerve grafts using 2 from her ear and
3 from her leg. We go once a month for physio therapy and the other times I do her exercises at home. However we won't know anything for the next six months to a year.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
