What kind of pain is it? Is it achy or more like a burning pain. Any particular movements that increase pain?

Re: worried about numbness in both hands
<t>That is a stumper. I'm an OT and from what I know as long as there is no injury to the brain then numbess, tingling, or pain just in your hand should be caused by compression of the nerves at the wrist. Its possible that your hand issues could be caused by a lower trunk injury of your brachial pl...

Re: worried about numbness in both hands
<t>What exactly was the surgery you had for your right hand? Was this nerve tranfer and tendon lengthening closer to your neck or was it a procedure down at your right hand? Is your whole left hand numb or is it just certain parts? Stroke victims will usually see one whole side of their body affected...

<t>To cut a sandwich to can try a rocker knife. You use like the name says. It is a nice that the blade is rounded and you rock it back and forth to cut things one handed. They are not overly large so you can take it with you when you go out. Although I know people have mixed success you should try ...

Re: Finger joint replacements
<t>I've seen MCP joint(knuckle joint) replacements, but I have not seen DIP or PIP joint replacements(joints in your fingers). People seem to do ok with them.<br/> <br/> The bottom line about all joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder, finger) is that they only last about 10-15 years, shorter if yo...

Re: EMG question
<t>Maybe consider what you would gain from having one. Is there a specific reason you want one?<br/> If you have something to gain maybe its worth it. I'm sure you probably know this, but you can get a general idea of the damage by what muscles don't work so well. (A therapist could help you figure ...

Re: After nine years he left
<t>When I was younger I remember I didn't want people to know I was different. No one can tell I have an OBPI unless I pointed it out. But once i got older and was open about it I realized that most people really don't care.<br/> I think its ok to have insecurities about our arms, because most non-B...
