Re: my own dr appt...
<t>When I took Tara, OBPI to her last 'well child' check at our local family doc clinic the walls were plastered with posters showing elderly and children looking so sad cause they are going to be with out doctors if we don't stop lawsuits. This made me so mad, I wanted to rip every single one down!...

Re: mittens
<r>I just bought my daughter a great pair of ski mittens at our local ski shop. They are made by Kombi, and they open with velcro all the way up the middle of back of hand to fingers. It is very easy for me to get my 3 year old's little lefty into the mitten and I know all is where it should be. The...

Re: wrist tendon transfer
<t>Hi Karen!<br/> <br/> Of course this is just our experience and my view of it, but I hope it helps you. My daughter, now 2.5 years old was offered the same wrist surgery that you are talking about shortly before turning 2 - she had no extension but could get a little past neutral just like your da...

Re: Keeping splints with velcro on babies- HELP
<t>Jaime,<br/> <br/> My daughter had this same thing going on. Her splint in question came from Benik (made of neopryne sp?) and her PT ordered her next one with a stronger velcro on it. Apparently they have several strengths. Also, since Benik custom makes there splints we were able to have the sid...

Re: Questions re: clothing for an adult woman after surgery.
<r>I just posted a link to a site, with lists of companies that make adaptive clothing, on the general board. I actually got the list cause my grandma had a stroke and is now paralyzed. My daughter has LOBPI and I thought it would make a great resource, or so I hope.<br/> <br/> <URL url="http://www....

Re: Latissimus Dorsi Transfer
My 2.5yr old daughter just had the surgery at Seattle's Children's Hospt. While of course you could not get in there, you may want to try and call them and ask for an adult referral. The Brachial Plexus Clinic is part of the Ortho Dept there. Just an idea.

Clothing and Undergarments
<t>Hi all! This is (LOBPI)Tara Grace's mom, Brenda.<br/> <br/> My grandma recently had several strokes and has lost complete use of her left arm among other things. 2.5yr old Tara calls her, her twin. She has a real hard time with buttons and recently confided that she has problems with her bra. We ...
