Help with Airline Transportation

Post by Mygrandaughter »

Could someone tell me the name of the organization that helps with transporting children to see out of state specialists? I had the name at one time but cannot locate it. If you have a web link, that would help also.

Hi,

I was able to get assistance from Northwest kids care program a couple years ago. They gave us round trip tickets for my son & I to go for his surgery. The program will only pay for 1 trip, but it was a big help.

See the link below, it's from Dr. Nath's website for travel assistance. It gives the numbers for several different places that can help.

Another idea it to contact your local shriners. My son goes to the Shrine hospital in Philadelphia and see's Dr. Kozin. They were out of the transportation area for our local shriners, but they set me up with a unit that paid for one of our trips back when my son got his cast removed and had to stay for a week of therapy.

Now my son is 3 and we go back for a yearly checkup. We now just drive, it's about 11 hours each way, and then stay at a hotel. I find it's harder to get help for the checkup than it was when he needed surgery.
Good luck to you, I hope this helps.
