sleeping positions
Re: sleeping positions
I know what you mean about waking up to a sore shoulder. I generally try to sleep on my non-OBPI side with my OBPI hand grasping the pillow. However, when I sleep on the OBPI side I become very uncomfortable after a couple of hours and turn over or wind up on my back.

Re: sleeping positions
I've always been very surprised with people on this topic saying that they sleep on their BPI side. Perhaps its different for OBPIs than for TBPIs. I have NEVER been able to sleep on my TBPI side, and finally, after 7 years, I can lie on it for about a half hour or so before the pain becomes too great. I always go to sleep on the unaffected side. Before amputation, the TBPI arm used to flop across my chest, and I'd need to make sure that the hand wasn't trapped beneath me. It was never comfortable, but it was a lot better than lying on the BPI shoulder. Since the amp, I sleep much better.
