Evan J. Hernandez, M.B.A
Evan J. Hernandez, M.B.A., is President-Elect and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the United Brachial Plexus Network (UBPN), where he leads the organization’s national strategy to strengthen advocacy, expand research collaborations, and modernize patient support systems for those affected by brachial plexus injuries.
At Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Evan serves as Research Program Manager in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, directing a portfolio of multi-subspecialty clinical trials, national registries, and Department of Defense–funded studies focused on peripheral nerve repair and regenerative medicine. His work bridges clinical science and strategic execution by connecting surgeons, scientists, and patient communities to accelerate innovation and improve outcomes.
Evan’s leadership extends beyond research administration. He has co-authored more than two dozen peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations in orthopaedics, plastic reconstruction, and rehabilitation science, and he is frequently invited to speak on the intersection of innovation, data-driven decision-making, and patient-centered care.
Currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Health Sciences at Rush University, Evan’s doctoral work explores comparative effectiveness and long-term outcomes in nerve reconstruction. His combined background in clinical research and business strategy informs a forward-thinking approach to nonprofit governance that emphasizes transparency, sustainable growth, and measurable community impact.
At UBPN, Evan is guiding a generational transformation by building data infrastructure, launching new advocacy initiatives, and creating pathways that connect research and lived experience. His vision is clear: to ensure that every individual with a brachial plexus injury has access to informed care, empowered networks, and a future shaped by evidence, compassion, and progress.
